Why Barack Obama Stayed In The Church         That same nagging ugly question just won’t die for some people even after Senator Obama gave his powerful, heartfelt, transcending speech on race in America, the critics and the cynics are still having a hard time accepting and understanding why Senator Obama stayed in the church. In my opinion Senator Obama explain very clearly in his speech why he stayed in that church, some people got it, others did not. I will try and explain in its simplest form based on my politics of humanity, unconditional love and forgiveness. And perhaps we can bury this question of why Obama stayed in the church and move on to the more serious issues that have encroached upon our country threatening democracy for all of America as well as the rest of this world.    Senator Obama started out by telling the audience that he was the product of an interracial union, his father a black man from Kenya, his mother a white woman from Kansas. Obama’s father left when he was two and his grandparents raised him. Obama started out with an identity crisis he was a biracial kid a product of America’s tension black and white this was his reality. Obama’s birth father died  and from much of what I read he knew little of the man who had bestowed upon him such an exquisite name that would one day be recognize by the world.      I’m convinced from all of my research on Barack Obama that he stayed in that church because he was loved and loved unconditionally. Barack stayed in that church because he understands that we are all just human beings, imperfect by nature but can be perfected. Senator Obama said in his speech that they would sing and pray, laugh and cry, and hold onto each other in troubled times, I know that’s why he stayed because he found hope. Obama stayed in that church despite Dr. Wright’s call of justice on America he still served his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corp, Barack understands that you can condemn something or someone and still love them. It’s like when a child does something wrong as a parent you may condemn their wrongdoing but still love the child. Barack stayed in that church because of the HIV Program Dr. Wright created, he stayed because he saw how that church wanted to help people of all colors in the community and cared enough about the future of young people to start a SAT Program to help students improve test scores. Barack Obama, stayed in that church because Dr. Wright sent people from his ministry to provide support for prisoners people who most of the world have long forgotten. He saw Dr. Wright’s compassion for the hungry and how the church would provide for people the rest of the world deemed hopeless. Barack stayed in that church because he saw the entire man, he stayed because he found the father he never had who sometimes said things he didn’t agree with. Senator Obama understands that love is deeper than our disagreements and differences I understand why Senator Obama stayed in that church not because of hate but because of love and the audacity hope. Barack Obama is a man of faith, principle and integrity, he’s our guy and we love him unconditionally. Vote Barack Obama 2008 ! Not This Time ! Yes We Can!
